Emmanuel Jouthe answered the call from PPS Danse and Coup de cœur francophone to choreograph a piece by Ferré as part of the new interdisciplinary project, Corps Amour Anarchie.
“Conceived and directed by Pierre-Paul Savoie, artistic director of PPS Danse, this show, under the musical direction of Philippe B and Philippe Brault, brings together 15 artists on stage: four singers, five musicians, and six dancers. […] Encompassing love and anarchy, memory and the sea, hope and solitude, his work makes our imagination take flight and proclaims loud and clear the innate poetry of the world”, and it is with great pleasure that Danse Carpe Diem/Emmanuel Jouthe joins the team of this magnificent project to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Léo Ferré. This unprecedented artistic encounter takes the form of an interaction between the artist’s oeuvre and contemporary dance, and the songs of Léo Ferré speak to us with more relevance and magnificence than ever before.
The show had its grand premiere in Montréal as part of the thirtieth edition of Coup de cœur francophone and will be performed in Québec City in the beginning of December.
