ET SI ON DANSAIT?
Reclaiming the body
ET SI ON DANSAIT ? is a cultural mediation project which is addressed to seniors who have little to no access to contemporary dance, inviting them to participate in a series of workshops. Led by Emmanuel Jouthe, people embarked on an exploration of contemporary dance and enjoyed a new experience that got them moving, improved their sense of well-being, and helped develop their creativity.
Over the workshops, reserved for people aged 50 and over, participants develop a space for body dialogue, inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. These moments of exchange and discovery allow the participants to live an experience not only relating the body and sensitivity, but also promoting emulation – through the recognition of the strengths of each member of the group, in particular. At the end of these workshops, participants share their choreographic work in a presentation organized in collaboration with the host.
Since 2016, the project ET SI ON DANSAIT? has been realized in Laval, Joliette, Longueuil, Terrebonne and shortly in Montréal in the maisons de la culture Janine-Sutto, Plateau-Mont-Royal et Claude-Léveillée.
